Practical uses for DashRunner

With integration with many products and services, the uses for DashButton are practically endless but here are a few examples of usage.

Control Philips Hue Lighting

Assign a button to turn on, turn off or toggle a light, group or scene. Create a cheap traditional light switch without the need of a smart-phone or tablet.

Order a Pizza

Order delivery food at the press of a button or a simple voice command, when used with any service that will accept an order via a text message using IFTTT.

Maximum calories, minimum effort.

Create a Bed-Side Page Button

Stick a bed-side Dash button and program it to send a text to mom or dad via IFTTT to summon them for a glass of water, or removal of monsters from the closet.

Create a Leaving Home / Coming Home Macro

Program a button or voice command to perform a sequence of actions when leaving (turn off lights, set thermostat to 'Away', activate the video security, turn on the radio for Fido) and a different set of actions when you return (turn on lights, set thermostate to 'Home', disable video security, turn the radio off.)

Trigger any IFTTT Recipe

By utilizing DashRunner trigger IFTTT through their Maker Channel, integration with dozen of systems creates countless options at the press of a button.

Roll Your Own Product Purchase Reminder

Place buttons next to household consumables and program each one to send a text, email or IFTTT recipe to remind you to buy more at the store.

Dinner Bell for the Connected Family

Place button in the kitchen or say a voice command, and assign it to send the family text messages that dinner is served. (Hey they probably have their heads buried in their smartphones anyway.)

DIY Silent Doorbell

Trigger to flash lights when someone is at the door for a cheap silent doorbell.  (Hey, I'm just spit-balling here.)

Office Supply Reorder Reminder

Place buttons next to office supplies or inventory at the office and program each one to send an email using IFTTT for a purchase order. (Buttons can be set to ignore subsequent presses for a period of time to prevent repeated reminders.)
